Did you know the Voyager 1 spacecraft is scheduled Did you know the Voyager 1 spacecraft is scheduled to cross one light day on 11/18/26?! 🛰That's over 16 billion miles....😱😱😱🤯It just so happens this guitar was named Voyager and it was only fitting to include the Golden Record on the fretboard. This guitar is going to a local SLC musician and I can't wait to hear the first notes. Shall we say it will be "out of this world?" The only place in Utah to get a fully custom, scientifically engineered, and truly handcrafted instrument. Here at the Utah School of Lutherie©️#acousticguitar #art #guitarbuilding #guitar #space
Luthier Log™ is live! 🔥 Join the growing list of i Luthier Log™ is live! 🔥 Join the growing list of instrument makers(and woodworkers) redesigning how they keep track of current projects, students, etc.I'm Daryl, founder and master luthier at Utah School of Lutherie© in Logan, UT. Over the last year or so, I built the software I actually needed — real acoustic science running in the background instead of a notebook that doesn't talk to a spreadsheet: Helmholtz and string tension calculators, Tap Tone Capture, an Analysis Lab that benchmarks your build live against real acoustic reference data, real-time sync, spec sheets, and full shop management — roster, wood stock, scheduling. This runs my own shop every day — students, clients, builds at every stage, wood on the shelf. Not a concept, not a mockup.Want a walkthrough before you sign up? DM me, and I'll set up a free Zoom call and show you the actual app, live.lutherielog.comVideos soon to come on the Tubes.#Luthier #GuitarBuilding #AcousticGuitarBuilding #LuthierTools #woodworking

A review from a recent graduate👨‍🎓 of the Utah Sch A review from a recent graduate👨‍🎓 of the Utah School of Lutherie©.... Giving the next generation of craftspeople the knowledge to be successful from the start 😊"My time working at the Utah School of Lutherie has been some of the best days of my life!! I have thoroughly enjoyed the one-on-one learning environment, especially where Daryl has consistently been fully willing to accommodate me in my personal preferences and my wants as far as my personal build has been concerned. He has always been responsive and open to any questions I have had regarding scheduling and build techniques. I have learned so much from this class, and could not be more satisfied than I am! I am now certified as a luthier, and I intend to keep learning and growing now that I have a firm understanding of the theory and practical application of guitar-making skills. Thank you, Daryl, for being a stunning individual!!"And my reply...."Thank you so much for these kind words — this genuinely made my day. Watching you grow from your first day in the shop to walking out as a certified luthier has been a privilege, and reviews like this are exactly why I love doing what I do.The one-on-one format only works because students like you show up curious, ask great questions, and take real ownership of their builds — you made teaching easy. I'm proud of the instrument you built and even prouder of the skills and understanding you're taking with you. Please stay in touch as you keep building. I'd love to see what you make next, and my door (and shop) is always open if you want to keep learning or just talk shop. Thank you for trusting me with your lutherie journey — it means more than you know."#guitarbuilding #luthier #guitarmaking #handmadeguitar #luthierschool

Often people are amazed by the beautiful wood I ha Often people are amazed by the beautiful wood I have in my shop and how organized it is 😲 You not only learn the skills involved in lutherie, but maybe you can take the discipline involved from having a well planned out shop and incorporate that into your workflow. Teaching instrument making and wisdom go hand-in-hand! Someone once told me, "If we don't support makers, then there won't be any future makers."Utah School of Lutherie©️Thanks to @makerstockinfo for the awesome baltic birch. I have some electric guitar necks that will fit that wood 👌 👍 #guitarbuilding #woodworking #Lutherie #lutherieschool #acousticguitar
